Campbell Grading, Inc., built this trail to allow campground users to travel down from Rob Hill, the highest point in the Presidio, to see views of the Pacific Ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge. This section gives pedestrians a safe route from the campground down to Lincoln Boulevard.
The trail is part of the greater Bay Area Ridge Trail, currently 375 miles of a planned 550-mile loop through the nine Bay Area counties that eventually will completely encircle the San Francisco Bay.
The section from Rob Hill Campground to Lincoln Boulevard consists of trail with Park Tread® surfacing, a Sutter wall, two crosswalk intersections with ramps and an island, wet water crossings, and resting areas with wood benches handcrafted from salvaged cypress trees.
